Meet “Eli”

Eli’s Balloon is a fun story based on a little boy’s belief that he could be anything he wanted to be, even a balloon.

Did you know?

• “Eli” is a real boy! The story of Eli’s balloon was inspired by the author’s youngest son (pictured above) who announced to everyone on a microphone that one day he could be a balloon. Kids say the darnedest things.
• The story takes place when Eli was five years old. Today, “Eli” is a high schooler. Time flies when you’re having as much fun as “Eli”.
• “Eli” has an older brother. His brother actually played a season of flag football as a kid which is captured in one of the illustrations.
• “Eli” loves sports. His favorite sports are soccer, basketball, and football.
